NRF Retail Show: Convergence on the Brain

The most intriguing conference topic for TrendSource: Convergence. According to industry experts, web, big data, social media, analytics, mobile and all things digital must come together to provide a clear picture of consumers’ behavior. Sr. Sales Manager, Evencia Leite, shares her perspective on the benefits of convergence and what it means for retailers in her recent blog post, “Done Right – Convergence Yields Customer Loyalty.” In her blog post, Evencia suggests, “Retailers and customers are symbiotically stuck with each other… understanding consumer behavior is paramount in cultivating harmonious, personalized communication that will harvest loyalty.” She went on to say, “In this age of convergence, there is a huge opportunity to test and learn as retailers engage with their customers based on the data that they are gathering from them.” What’s on the horizon? Personalization via MOBILE. The increased usage of mobile devices is staggering. It is not enough to have a mobile ecommerce site – mobile shopping must integrate with the in-store experience and be personalized to each shopper. Through the personalization that is available via mobile, retailers are able to offer product information, reviews, relevant promotions, etc. that are all about the individual…but, only possible via convergence.
