As we’ve pointed out in our market research blog, the world was already going virtual before the Spring of 2020, but the pandemic most certainly accelerated it. From e-commerce’s rapid expansion to the proliferation of online meeting spaces, the pandemic forced people to learn digital technologies on the fly. “Zoom” was already a verb before the pandemic, but today it means something very different.
Like so much else recently, compliance management is accelerating towards the digital: Virtual Inspections were already becoming a thing before the pandemic began, but the pandemic has sped it up.
With 2020 shutdowns, Virtual Inspections went from convenience to necessity, and companies like TrendSource worked to quickly develop acceptable virtual protocols and best practices to execute as many Inspection types virtually as possible.
TrendSource has developed a virtual version of nearly all its physical Inspections types.
These include Debt Collector Inspections, Repossession Lot inspections, and FHA Lender Inspections.
Of course, TrendSource still offers physical versions of each of these Inspections, though in a post-2020 world, we always want to remind people that local health and safety restrictions can sometimes make in-person inspections temporarily impossible. In these cases, a provisional Virtual Inspection will be the only immediate option.
Additionally, TrendSource offers Virtual OnSite Inspections for Consumer Reporting. It is important to note that individual credit bureaus determine if a Virtual Inspection requires a followup in-person Inspection, though early indications are that Virtual Inspections may likely be accepted by all three major credit bureaus as sufficient.
TrendSource offers Virtual OnSite Inspections for Consumer Reporting through its online ordering platform.
Two TrendSource Inspection types, however, cannot be executed virtually.
These are Occupancy Verification Inspections and Remote I-9 Verifications. While TrendSource would love to offer a virtual option for each and every product, the nature of these two particular products requires an in-person component. That means to say that we don’t offer virtual versions of these products...but nobody else does either.
TrendSource has been at the forefront of Virtual Inspections. Our Inspectors are well acquainted with procedures and best practices, and our proprietary technologies help to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
The world is changing and compliance management is changing with it. Thankfully TrendSource is keeping pace and staying ahead of the curve.
