By now you've probably (er…hopefully!) read all about Ryan's, Jordan's, and my shopping experiences on Black Friday last week (and a big THANK YOU to everyone who shared their own experience in the comments section by the way!), but how do their experiences measure up to those of other shoppers? Good question. wINput to the rescue!
wInputters across the nation pulled out their smartphones this past Thursday and Friday to share their Black Friday (and Thanksgiving night) shopping experiences at the retailers you listed as your top holiday shopping destinations. As promised, here are….drumroll please…the results! Check out our Black Friday “Scorecards” to see how these top three retailers measured up to our experiences. #SurveySays…
Best Buy
Overall, wINputters agree with Ryan: shopping at Best Buy on Black Friday was a positive experience!
Kohl’s
Kohl’s wasn’t as popular a Black Friday destination as either Best Buy or Walmart, say wINputters. Barely any “Pleasant Surprises” were cited, and although I was admittedly pumped about the free candy canes and savings ticker tech, one of our blog commentators disagreed stating that she was bothered by the store associates pushing store credit card sign-ups for a same-day discount. No retailer can please everyone, but with an 80% positive score on Black Friday, seems like Kohl’s got the job done.
Walmart
Walmart solidified its place as a top Black Friday shopping destination: by far, we received the most responses about Walmart. And it seems Walmart store associates were well prepared for the rush: 41% of our respondents cited being helped by employees. One of our blog commentators stated that the calm and helpful store associates, specifically her cashier, were the high points of her otherwise chaotic Walmart shopping experience. She even called the store manager to commend her cashier the next day!
See you next year!
And with those shared experiences, another Black Friday is in the books. We’re excited about next year’s TrendSource Experiment…and hopefully the many that will come in the next 12 months. Have an idea for us to explore? Please share it in the comments.
