Technology on the Rise: The 2015 Pre-Holiday Consumer Buying Intentions Report

Posted by trendsourceuser on 19 November

TrendSource conducted its 4th Annual Pre-Holiday Consumer Buying Intentions Study to uncover consumer targets for the upcoming gift-giving season.

TrendSource surveyed over 3,000 consumers to identify trends and insights for retailers as we approach the holiday gift-giving season.

Digital shopping behaviors have increased significantly over the past several years. Since 2013, shoppers purchasing their holiday gifts in-store decreased by 38% and mobile device usage is growing quickly. The study shows that 63% prefer a browser over an app. Of the 37% that do use a mobile app, 82% are using 3rd party apps like Amazon and Groupon and 18% are choosing to use a retailer app, like Kohl’s or Macy’s. Study results also found that the younger a consumer, the more likely he or she is to use a mobile device to shop.
