And with the recently red-hot job market putting employment front and center in everybody’s mind, we thought it was a good time to tell you everything you need to know about I-9.

So let us give you quick rundown of everything you need to know about Remote I-9 Verifications.

What Are I-9s? Why Do People Have to Complete I-9s?

Since the Regan administration, completing Form I-9 has been a standard part of compliance for employers. Employers must remain compliant with federal regulations that govern employment eligibility. These federal regulations exist to ensure that companies are only hiring and employing individuals who are legally authorized to work in the United States.

How to Remotely Complete I-9s

Ensuring each New Hire completes Form I-9—whether they work on-site, remotely, or in a hybrid position—can be time consuming, inefficient, and at times downright impossible. It’s a lot to manage for an HR department and it’s even harder when employees are located across the country.

That’s why TrendSource offers Remote I-9 Verifications.

TrendSource’s I-9 Verifications bridge the gap between employers and their New Hires. By sending a local Field Agent to complete Section 2 of Form I-9 with your New Hire, TrendSource adds efficiency to this mandatory step in the onboarding process.

How Remote I-9 Verification Work

Remote I-9 Verifications are easier than you think. Once you are ready to onboard a New Hire, provide us with their email address, and we will send them a link prompting them to complete Section 1 of Form I-9 using our online portal.

From there, TrendSource will connect them with a Field Agent from our proprietary, nation-wide database. The New Hire and Field Agent will arrange a meeting time and place agreeable to both, and at the appointed time, complete Section 2 of Form I-9 together with the Field Agent photographing all necessary documents.

The Field Agent enters this completed information into TrendSource’s online portal and, once the QA process is complete, the completed I-9 becomes available to employers through their client dashboard.

Head to our recent blog for more details on how it all works. It’s actually quite simple.
