At TrendSource, we have never in our history sent an email to our entire client base.
We aren’t that type of company, our touch is more personal, and since we serve so many different industries, it’s not all that often that there is something to communicate that pertains to our entire client base.
That said, this week, we emailed our entire client base. That’s right, every single one of them.
What could possibly be some important and so universal that we would reach out to banks, credit resellers, collection networks, and everybody in between?
The I-9 Reverification deadline.
Which is August 30. Which, as of today, is a mere 20 days away.
What Are Companies Required to do for I-9s By August 30?
By August 30, all companies, no matter the industry or business type, must reverify in-person each and every employee who remotely completed Section 2 of their I-9. This remote completion would have occurred during DHS’s temporary flexibility on the in-person I-9 requirements, which went from March of 2020 to May 2023.
Companies that onboarded remote employees through video conference platforms must now reverify their identification documents in person.
By August 30.
This can be a massive undertaking for companies with remote employees spread across the country. How are they to reverify their I-9 in-person without incurring unwanted expenses?
And for appropriately risk adverse businesses, not meeting the deadline is not an option—falling out of employment eligibility compliance is a big deal, punishable by fines and worse.
TrendSource Remote I-9 Verifications
But TrendSource does not point out a problem without offering a solution.
TrendSource Remote I-9 Reverifications can rapidly fulfill the DHS in-person requirements for reverifications. By leveraging its extensive, nationwide, and proprietary Field Agent network, TrendSource can rapidly dispatch a field agent local to a remote employee to reverify their I-9 on the company’s behalf.
We recently wrote a blog on how the process works. Check it out!
Remember, TrendSource doesn’t email its entire client base unless it believes the email is a) timely; b) relevant; and c) solution oriented.
This week was a first for us, which should give you an idea of how seriously we are taking this deadline.
Companies must do whatever it takes to meet the August 30 deadline, and TrendSource Remote I-9 Reverifications make it easy to do so.
